Bearing/Oil seals

Wheel bearings allow wheels to rotate with minimal friction and they also support the vehicle’s
weight. This means that they must be in a good condition and the seals must be able to prevent lubricant contamination. A worn grease seal can also allow grease to leak out of the bearings and can lead to wheel bearing failure. A rumbling, growling or cyclic noise coming from the wheels is usually the first sign of wheel bearing trouble. Ignoring a faulty wheel bearing can have fatal consequences with regard to vehicle safety. At CBS, our professionals will inspect and service the wheel bearings as well as replace them when necessary. We use high quality parts supplied by reputable manufacturers to give you peace of mind.

Hydraulics

It is important to repair worn brake hydraulics because disregarding hydraulic systems can cause expensive repairs and brake failure. In modern vehicles, a brake warning light will illuminate on the dashboard to signal to the driver that something is wrong. Over time, brake fluid can also become contaminated with dirt or moisture and needs to be replaced as per the manufacturer’s specifications. Using the wrong type of brake fluid may cause the seals to fail and this in turn leads to brake failure. Because hydraulic brake components are critical for safety, it is important that they are inspected and repaired by a professional. At CBS workshops we have the specialists who will repair your vehicle’s hydraulic system and get your car back on the road.

Discs and Drums

Modern vehicles are fitted with either discs and pads at all wheels or a combination of discs and pads in the front, and drums and shoes in the rear. If the disc or drum surface is not even, this may result in the need for skimming. The process of skimming involves taking a thin layer of metal off the disc or drum until it is even all around. This will save you the cost of a new part and extend the life of a disc or drum where possible. Visit

Clutch

Over time, friction accompanied by the repetitive action of applying the clutch can wear down the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel as well as gears and bearings. It is important for a vehicle owner to use the clutch with care and keep it maintained. At CBS workshops, we offer comprehensive clutch replacement, clutch assemblies, and flywheel skimming to get you back on the road in no time at all. In addition to clutch component replacement, we also offer repairs
of the clutch hydraulic system.

Brake Pads / Linings

Brakes use friction to transmit force to a vehicle’s wheels in order to slow the vehicle down or stop it completely. Your vehicle’s braking system usually consists of brake pads, discs, calipers, brake lines and a master cylinder. Worn brake
pads usually result in loud squeaking or a grinding noise when driving, especially at low speeds. Sticking to the service schedule as per manufacturer’s specifications will remind you when it is time to service your brakes. Other signs of faulty brakes include pulsations through the brake pedal, longer stopping distance and excessive pedal travel when brakes are applied. Our professional technicians at CBS workshops
will help you in diagnosing your brake problems as well as repairing or replacing components in your braking system.

Air Brakes

Our CBS workshops also specialise in repairing and supplying airbrake components for heavy vehicles. Our specialists are experienced in air-
brake systems of heavy duty trucks, trailers and buses. In order to ensure that they are up to date with new developments in heavy duty vehicles, our staff is trained and developed on a continuous basis.
